2016 Dundee Hills Cuvée Pinot Noir
This is a cuvée of the most intense barrels from excellent vineyard sites in the red volcanic clay of the Dundee Hills AVA. It shows the sanguine depth and fruity elegance that are typical of this area. The Dundee Hills developed as a result of the collision of the Pacific and North American plates. Located about 40 miles inland from the Oregon Coast, this growing area is protected from severe weather by the coast range.

This captures a bit of the iron-rich character of the AVA, with a spine of steel supporting firm cherry fruit. It’s medium bodied, with highlights of orange peel and kumquat. The flavors linger gracefully with a kiss of mocha on the finish. —P.G
